Central Region Job Summary
BDO is seeking a capable Staff Accountant to support F&A service delivery operations for identified engagements at BDO RISE. The successful candidate will multi-task and manage assigned work responsibilities effectively; work efficiently under pressure, meet all deadlines and be a strong team player.
Job Duties
Job Responsibilities:
• Fully understands the Finance & Accounting functions generally performed by a business (e.g. AP, Cash Apps, GA, FA, A/R, etc.).
• Records and codes Bank and Credit Card transactions.
• Processes Expense reimbursements.
• Processes, records and reconciles payroll.
• Maintains fixed assets, prepaid and other accounting schedules.
• Records depreciation/amortization expense.
• Reconciles Bank, Credit Card and other Balance Sheet accounts.
• Supports period close activities and completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Assists with financial statement preparation and other reporting deliverables.
• Supports audit preparation and tax filing activities.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Management required.
• Professional certifications (CA, ICWA, CMA etc.) a plus
Experience:
• Three (3) or more years of experience performing general accounting transactions and functions required.
• Experience working in an outsourced operations environment required.
Software:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
• Proficiency working with pdf documents.
• Demonstrated experience performing Accounting functions in applications such as QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Sage Intacct, Netsuite etc.
Language:
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills required.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• High level of attention to detail required.
• Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details.
• Ability to self-manage work assignments and prioritize work activities.
• Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm.
• Ability to work US shift hours (5pm - 2am IST) if required.
• Ability to work overtime especially during month end.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
