Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC)Associate is responsible for partnering with more experienced GRC professionals to provide privacy, data governance and privacy technology consulting to clients based on the relevant privacy regulations.  In this role, the GRC Associate will participate in various stages of engagement such as information gathering, stakeholder communication, reporting and provide assistance as needed.

Job Duties

• Assist in conducting maturity assessments by interviewing key client stakeholders and documenting observations, risks and recommendations
• Assist in developing aspects of the client policies and procedures (e.g., Privacy Notice, Privacy Policies, Data Management) based on industry best practices, client privacy standards, and regulatory requirements
• Assist in executing and evaluating Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and work with client stakeholders to determine risk remediation plans, as needed
• Assist in conducting data mapping exercises to maintain records of processing, data inventories, data flow diagrams.
• Monitor regulatory updates, guidance, and case law to remain current on global regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and help clients identify areas of opportunity for improving their data privacy practices
• Effectively communicate with key stakeholders and leadership regarding status, issues, and priorities to achieve expected outcomes
• Collaborate in a team environment with global project resources.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Applications or Law required

Experience:

• Any prior internships, a plus

Software:

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong academic history
• Strong analytical and basic research skills
• Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently and within a group environment
• Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge in the field of GRC preferred.
