BDO is seeking a Sr. Associate in Privacy Technology to join its Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Practice. The GRC Practice helps companies to build, manage, and monitor privacy and data protection programs while embedding privacy into Apps, websites, systems, and processes. We offer a variety of services, such as privacy managed services, assessments, Data Protection Officer services, Data Protection by Design and by Default program development, and website compliance. Candidates that are hired will be integral in providing these services for our clients.

Job Duties

Job Responsibilities

• Conducts website cookie and consent compliance assessments, documents process, findings, and recommendations
• Creates initial project plans for client, helps in identifying key issues, and makes recommendations to address issues as directed by engagement manager
• Applies knowledge of tag, cookie, and consent management
• Applies knowledge of regulatory requirements and leading practices
• Identifies and prioritizes initial key risks and assesses their impact and likeliness of occurrence
• Conducts client information gathering interviews and documents findings/notes
• Evaluates and recommends alternative courses of action and potential solutions to achieve best results for client in consultation with engagement manager
• Participates in and contributes to preparing reports for client highlighting work performed, issues identified, and recommendations
• Conducts presentations of work product to clients
• Coordinates with other BDO practices in relation to technical topics and other due diligence in conjunction with the engagement manager
• Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree, required
• IAPP or equivalent training, required
• IAPP, ISACA, or other relevant privacy certifications, preferred
• OneTrust certifications, a plus
• Master’s Degree, a plus

Experience and Skills:

• 2-3 years of experience in management consulting, technology advisory, or technology project management, required
• Experience with web hosting technologies including cookies and tracking technologies, required
• Experience with scripting languages such as HTML, CSS, and JAVA script, required
• Experience with tag and cookie management technologies such as Google Tag Manager, required
  • Experience with consent management and related technologies such as OneTrust, TrustArc, required
  • Basic technical skills: Microsoft Suite proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, PDF)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment to meet client and regulatory deadlines
  • Ability to self-manage daily tasks and proactively identify next steps for assignments
  • Organized and proficient at managing multiple sources of data and information
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Read/write HTML, CSS, and JAVA script
