BDO is seeking a Manager in Website Compliance to join its Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Practice. The GRC Practice helps companies to build, manage, and monitor privacy and data protection programs while embedding privacy into Apps, websites, systems, and processes. We offer a variety of services, such as privacy managed services, assessments, Data Protection Officer services, Data Protection by Design and by Default program development, and website compliance. Candidates that are hired will be integral in providing these services for our clients.

Job Duties

This role is responsible for final quality assurance activities to ensure that assessments are completed, as well as reviewing results for flagged risks.  The person should have a decent understanding of common privacy risks.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads website cookie and consent compliance assessments and the generation of findings and recommendations
  • Manages website compliance technical processes and develops procedures to assess tracking technologies and evaluate pixels
  • Understands, documents, and analyzes client needs to develop project/resource plans, establishes reporting and metrics, and provides the client with regular updates
  • Responsible for engaging and managing staff as well as acting as a website compliance subject matter expert; has awareness and can speak to regulations and leading practices around website compliance
  • Develops compliance strategies with consideration of client risks and industry
  • Demonstrates knowledge of business and IS/IT processes, concepts of enterprise risk management and related controls, agile team management, technical aspects of information systems (technical and functional requirements development) and software development methodologies
  • Manages the offshore team and reports into the onshore service/engagement leaders
  • Ensures that the offshore team members understand project tasks, deadlines, and expectations
  • Reviews deliverables for completeness, quality, and consistency
  • Establishes work schedules, project schedules, and task deadlines; monitors offshore team for project completion
  • Identifies and communicates continuous service improvements
  • Collaborates with the onshore service/engagement leaders to ensure that both the offshore and onshore teams are working effectively together
  • Manages day-to-day project requirements, as well as on-site and/or remote team
  • Develops and maintains project status dashboards, KPIs, and reports
  • Coordinates project aspects, and ensures risk is managed, mitigated, or escalated as quickly as possible
  • Develops and/or updates client processes and manages the implementation of process updates
  • Supports the development of RFI and RFP responses, as well as subject matter expert presentations and proposals
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, required
  • IAPP certification (CIPT, CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM), preferred
  • Master's Degree, preferred
  • OneTrust certification, preferred

 

Experience and Skills:

  • More than 5 years of experience in management consulting, technology advisory, or technology project management, with a focus on managing large complex engagements and clients, required
  • Experience leading onshore/offshore engagement teams, required
  • Advanced proficiency with web hosting technologies including cookies and tracking technologies, required
  • Advanced proficiency with scripting languages such as HTML, CSS, and JAVA script
  • Advanced proficiency with tag and cookie management technologies such as Google Tag Manager, required
    • Advanced proficiency with consent management and related technologies such as OneTrust, TrustArc, required
    • Advanced proficiency with scripting tools and languages including JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, required
    • Advanced technical skills: Microsoft Suite proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, PDF)
    • Expert understanding of workflow technologies/privacy platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc, Priva, Securiti.ai)
    • Advanced understanding of privacy regulations and obligations
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment to meet client and regulatory deadlines
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet regulatory deadlines
    • Organized and proficient at managing multiple sources of data and information
    • Ability to lead an offshore team and collaborate with onshore team and engagement leaders
