BDO is seeking an Experienced Associate in Privacy Technology to join its Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Practice. The GRC Practice helps companies to build, manage, and monitor privacy and data protection programs while embedding privacy into Apps, websites, systems, and processes. We offer a variety of services, such as privacy managed services, assessments, Data Protection Officer services, Data Protection by Design and by Default program development, and website compliance. Candidates that are hired will be integral in providing these services for our clients.

Job Duties

Job Responsibilities

• Contributes to engagements involving the configuration, implementation, and operation of privacy technology platforms to automate common privacy-supporting tasks, including privacy impact assessments, data mapping, consent management, individual rights, and risk assessments
• Identifies data and data elements from existing privacy or enterprise risk tools and technologies as appropriate for migration to privacy technology platforms
• Executes scripting tools to normalize data for migration and import
• Contributes to the development of procedures and playbooks for privacy technology configurations, implementation, and operation
• Conducts research on privacy technology, frameworks, and regulations
• Contributes to the development of privacy technology training modules and enablement/adoption processes and tools
• Participates in and contributes to preparing client reports highlighting work performed, issues identified, and recommendations
• Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree, required
• IAPP or equivalent training, a plus
• IAPP or other relevant privacy certifications, a plus

Experience and Skills:

• 1 year of professional services and privacy experience through an internship or professional services, required
• Basic technical skills: Microsoft Suite proficiency (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, PDF)
• Experience with workflow technologies/privacy platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc, Priva, Securiti.ai)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment to meet client and regulatory deadlines
• Ability to self-manage daily tasks and proactively identify next steps for assignments
• Organized and proficient at managing multiple sources of data and information
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of privacy program management tools such as OneTrust, TrustArc, Priva, Securiti.ai, preferred
  • Experience with, or course work in, privacy technology concepts such as differential privacy, homomorphic / polymorphic encryption, secure multiparty computation, private information retrieval, preferred
  • Experience with scripting tools and languages including JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, and others, preferred
