Job Description

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • GraphQl APIs and MySQL backend development. We heard from our peers that GraphQl is the query language of the future and from what we’ve learnt from our team, indeed it is.
  • Work as part of a small team, which will include other Backend developers, a project manager, and a QA professional.
  • Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
  • Reach out to the open-source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes - Npm packages move fast and often break things.
  • Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
  • Reusable code. Who prefers having duplicate code lying around? Build modular and reusable code, components and libraries
  • Performance. This fast-paced generation needs a fast as well as an optimized api. We don’t have enough funds to refund those people who smash their Smartphones / Laptops while using a slow and poor-performing api.
  • Automated testing. Do not apply if you claim that you can write bug-free code in the first shot. Yes, we need people who are ready to learn from their mistakes rather than someone who never makes a mistake.
  • Up-to-date. Stay up-to-date with all recent developments, security updates and issues found in the JavaScript and GraphQl space. The package developers are all humans and we tend to break stuff every now and then so we need someone willing to take this challenge and fix the code.
  • A positive mindset and can-do attitude.
  • Forensic attention to detail.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Firm grasp of the JavaScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax
  • Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code
  • Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio Code ( VSCode )
  • Firm grasp of the following
  • GraphQl data manipulation and query language using javascript
  • MySQL database operations
  • AWS cloud services
  • Experience with automated testing suite, Jest
  • Proficient in using Git as a version control system
