Job Description • Responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems and related equipmentare maintained, serviced and tested in accordance with the applicable rulesand regulations, the electrical standards and good industry practice;•Responsible for the integrity of the safety barriers which are integral partsof logic circuits and software control systems;•Responsible for ensuring that deviations from the explosion proof integrityof installations and•equipment within hazardous zones are identified and reported to theMaintenance Superintendent;•Responsible for ensuring that relevant requirements of the Safety andEnvironmental Management System (SEMS) are used as the term ofreference for activities controlled by him/her;•Assist in the development and revision of procedures and standinginstructions for the Department;•Assist with the production of Risk Assessments. Participate in theinvestigation of accidents and•incidents and administer the Synergy system as it applies to theDepartment;•Update and complete records within the IFS CMMS that reflects the workcarried out daily and give comprehensive handover to back-to-backs of allevents and information relevant to time on duty. This will include an updateon all changes in plant conditions, changes and additions to standing anddaily instructions and, as required, the status of work permits within assignedarea. Handovers are regarded as critical to the safe operation of the platformsystems and equipment;•Carry out necessary repairs and maintenance of the electrical installationand the electrical equipment on board in accordance with the MaintenanceProgram under the management of the Maintenance Superintendent;•Maintain a good working environment in all working areas and ensure goodhousekeeping and safe working conditions;•Prioritize workload to ensure safety critical backlog is kept to a minimum;•Prepare required maintenance reports;•Liaise with other departments for coordination of maintenance activities;•Assist in meeting department objectives;•Use IFS Maintenance Management System to generate work orders, updaterecords etc. ;•Carry out consumables stock control;• Use the Permit To Work system, prepare permits. Adhere to Permit ToWork requirements;•Ensure that vendors and contractors are manged safely and effectively;•Undertake training both on and offshore relevant to the position;•Perform on the job training for newly started colleagues;•Assist in the competency assessment and performance evaluation ofsubordinates as required, and provide regular feedback;•Participate in the emergency preparedness drills, the safety meetings, andon the job training;•Member of the Emergency Response Team;•Assist in any other work as directed by Department Head.Education ITI or Diploma or Degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience•Offshore and FPSO experience is desirable•Lead Electrical Technician certificate, preferably “Authorised Lead ElectricalTechnician” or similar•Experienced in variable speed control of AC/DC Motors•Experienced in fault-finding and testing of hydraulic and pneumatic systems•Experienced in calibration of analogue and digital transmitters•Ideally 5 years’ experience in a similar supervisory position•Substantial Oil and Gas experience may be used as a substitute for formalqualifications•Previous work in a multinational environment is desirableInterpersonal Skills•Good Interpersonal and communication skills•Flexibility, honesty and reliability are considered important factors•Ideal behavioural preferenceoAble to make critical decisionsoAssertive and confidentoAble to demand actions and resultsoResults drivenoAnalytical, manages data and information logicallyoWorks in a careful and thorough manner
