Job Description
Function as an integral member of a team, provide technical expertise and suggest solutions to networking issues
Maintain a secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal and external networks
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN performance, connectivity, and related network problems and quickly diagnose and solve difficult technical problems as they occur
Install, maintain, and monitor system hardware and software; perform preventive maintenance to network, including wiring network outlets and switches, installing routers, and connecting workstations
Maintaining system performance by providing system monitoring and analysis and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software and networks and operations systems management
Maintain, optimize, and monitor VPN and remote access systems
Support servers, storage and operational processes pertaining to the virtualization infrastructure
Maintain a stable Microsoft Windows and VMware vSphere ESXi environment
Configure, monitor, and maintain Netapp SAN, provision/reclaim storage, troubleshoot storage-related issues, and manage CIFS/ iSCSI shares/ volumes
Responsible for maintaining desktop and server patch levels, security updates (IAVAs), and overall security posture, including Microsoft and Cisco critical software releases
Maintain best practices and procedures for patch management, virus management, and operating system upgrades
Monitor system resource usage and ensure adequate resources are available to meet the IT requirements through resource scheduling and new resource acquisition
Provision and administer all cisco servers, including configuring, adding roles and features to existing servers, and maintain/upgrade hardware
Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches, and resolve software related problems
Perform system backups and recovery operations ensuring systems are backed up on a regular basis
Diagnose failed backups and remediate problems
Install and configure desktop operating system software and applications
Integrate off-the-shelf applications and applications developed in-house into existing environments
Proactively evaluate user support issues and identify areas requiring training
Assist users with needs analysis, evaluation of their information requirements, and maintaining and troubleshooting desktop software
Conduct hardware and software analysis and contribute to application and systems software development and support
Provide support for other IT Department staff and assist with management of IT Department projects
Coordinate with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents
